Manager, Purchasing

Summary of the position:

Lead the Procurement department through planning, recruiting, delegating, and training and development; design and implement purchasing and cost saving strategies. Collaborate and work with external vendors to secure contract, pricing, products, services, and terms. Provide supervision and support to ensure overall departmental effectiveness, operational excellence, profit maximization, and achievement of company targets.


What you will do:

  • Ensures development of annual budget and cost management, within the context of Purchasing operation
  • Ensures all Departmental KPI to be monitor, achievable and measurable
  • Builds a monthly set of management reports to track and controls major expense categories.
  • Provide general direction and supervise the team through strategic procurement planning, inventory management and purchasing by implementing cost saving strategies and innovative approaches.
  • Establish and implement procurement management project plans and procurement systems to ensure customer needs and company objectives.
  • Apply procurement management best practices and principles in the development of new and/or streamlined innovative approaches to procurement processes and systems.
  • Expedite delivery of equipment and services to complete project schedule.
  • Monitor and support construction procurement team regarding to change management, progress, and procurement projects.
  • Work with external vendors on contract and negotiation on the price, service, term, and products.
  • Maintains constructive relationships with all vendors which provide consistent levels of value, service, and reliability.  Personally, maintains a working relationship with key vendors.
  • Lead competitive bid for major equipment, manage vendor qualification process and services contracts.
  • Supervise the team by providing leadership and support in goals implementation, planning, training, organizing, and controlling the procurement activities.
  • Keep contract records and files, and report and present findings to President
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement or a related area in Hospitality and Food & Beverages Industry
  • Proven track record in planning, development, and implementation of procurement strategies
  • Knowledge of company’s rules, regulations, and procedure
  • Knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Knowledge of hospitality and food & beverages market conditions, sources of supply
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain or Procurement ERP system
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Strong presentation, written communication, and report-writing skills in English
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen (construction)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and flexible to travel
