Supervisor Procurement

Job Summary:

Ensure that the project teams are adequately supplied with key construction materials and services that match technical specifications, meet quality standard, and save cost. Lead procurement team to ensure their ability to procure, expedite and schedule deliveries of materials and services to jobsite in line with the project construction timeline.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct specifications of construction materials by working closely with design team of various BUs’ construction projects and able to read construction progress to understand the material needs for different stages of the projects.
  • Collect and compile information such as cost, availability, and delivery on the needed construction materials by using proper research methods.
  • Ensure that only quality materials are selected for purchase through rigorous testing, observation, and examination of the products.
  • Prepare bid requests or purchase orders with respect to budgetary limitation and scope of authority and ensure cost savings through effective contract negotiation.
  • Plan and coordinate with expediting personnel for a timely delivery of procured materials.
  • Coordinate activities related to identification, control, accounting for documents by vendors, contractors, engineering team.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the causes and take corrective actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of experience five (5) years in the construction business, most of which has been in purchasing or a related area.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans.
  • Ability to accurately describe and assess the status of a construction project and be ready to provide possible solutions when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision.
  • Excellent computer skills and the willingness to learn company created software for managing projects.
  • Excellent time management.
